Remove Static From Audio

Static is a diagnosis before it is a button. Check a generic audio preview and keep the limits visible.

Static, crackle and electrical buzz are different problems. Ordinary speech denoising does not repair clicks or clipped samples.

Find out whether the noise is static before processing the whole file.

Static is an ambiguous label, so this page names the boundary clearly.

01 · NOTE

Crackle is not always noise

Short clicks and clipped peaks can be part of the recorded signal damage. A quieter result is not the same as a restored one.

02 · NOTE

Hum has its own cause

Electrical hum and harmonics may need a dedicated filter. Do not treat a 50/60 Hz problem as proof that general denoising will solve it.

03 · NOTE

Use the generic preview honestly

The preview is a generic audio reduction test. It does not repair clicks or clipped samples.

Capability boundary

Specific about the edges.

Static can mean crackle, buzz, interference or clipping. Ordinary speech denoising may reduce a steady component, but it cannot promise to repair damaged or clipped samples.

Questions before the first take.

Answers stay within what you can use on this page.

Is static the same as hiss?

No. Static can mean crackle, buzz, interference or clipping; hiss is usually steady high-frequency noise.

Can clipping be repaired?

Not by ordinary denoising; clipped samples may be unrecoverable.

Is electrical hum supported?

Not as a promise in this build. Hum needs a separate test and may need a dedicated filter.

Why do artifacts remain?

The processor can trade noise reduction for speech distortion, especially when the source is damaged.

Will the original file be overwritten?

No. The browser creates a separate preview result and leaves the original under your control.
